Message do it after sitting a day or so when it has trouble starting, when it has those symptoms you were talking about...the way you described it to me sounded like there isn't any compression when cold and sitting for a day or so...My idea was that IF there was fuel leaking into the cylinder over the time it sits, then the fuel can wash the cylinder walls and the rings won't seal until you crank a bunch of times to get oil on it again..
